NOTICE
Subject: – Advertisement Notification No. 06 of 2024/Psy dated 28.08.2024.
- In view of the large number of applications received for the post of Junior
Assistant, advertised vide Notification No. 06 of 2024/Psy dated 28.08.2024,
and in order to maintain uniformity in the examination, it is hereby notified
for the information of all the concerned candidates that the examination for
the post of Junior Assistant shall now be held through offline OMR mode
instead of online Computer Based Test (CBT}. - For the Divisional Cadre post of Jammu, OMR based written examination
shall be held at Jammu. Whereas, for the Divisional cadre post of Kashmir,
OMR based written examination will be held at Srinagar. - Detailed information regarding date, venue, time & issuance of admit cards
shall be issued separately in the coming days. - However, candidates can expect the OMR based written Examinat_ion for the
post of Junior Assistant in the month of March.

Selection Criteria and Syllabus for Steno-Typists and Junior Assistants in Subordinate Judiciary of UT of Ladakh
For the posts of Steno-Typists:
- The standard for qualifying the Shorthand and Type Writing test shall be on the basis of merit vis-a-vis the number of accurate words typed on the basis of dictation given in the examination.
- The dictation shall be of 300 words to be dictated in 05 minutes (60 words per minute).
- The candidates shall transcribe the dictation on a computer keyboard in 10 minutes (30 words per minute).

For the posts of Junior Assistants:
Test Structure:
- The test will comprise an online computer-based written examination carrying 80 marks.
- The interview will be of 20 marks.
- The computer-based written examination will be of 80 minutes duration.
- The question paper will comprise 80 questions and each question will carry one mark. Each question will contain multiple choices.
- There will be no negative marking.
- There will be no cut-off point or pass marks in the written examination. Instead, candidates will be called for an interview in the ratio of 5:1 based on their merit obtained in the online computer-based test.
Syllabus for the Online Examination:
The question paper will comprise the following four parts with a breakup of marks:
General English = 30 marks
General Knowledge/Current Affairs = 25 marks
Basic Concepts of Computers = 15 marks
Job-related awareness = 10 marks
The syllabus for each part is as follows:
Part I – General English:
This part will comprise questions relating to the general English awareness of the candidates, including grammar, with special focus on Articles, Verbs, Tenses, Prepositions, Voice, Synonyms, Antonyms, Punctuation, and factual understanding of events, dates, people, idioms or phrases.
Part II – General Knowledge:
This part will comprise questions relating to current affairs.
Part III – Computers:
This part will comprise questions relating to the knowledge of basic concepts about computer systems.
Part IV – Court Related:
This part will comprise job-related questions, including the terminologies generally used in official/Court work and types of communications.
